If you’ve always wanted to get your truck licence and become a truck driver, Kiwi Can Do has the perfect opportunity for you. Our FREE truck licensing course will get you your 18-tonne class 2 truck driver’s licence with a Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement. To be eligible, you must be on a Work and Income job seekers benefit and you must have held your full driver’s licence for at least 6 months.
Truck licence courses are not currently available at our Wellington facility.
Become a Truck Driver with our Truck Licence Training Course
Our truck driver training course is NZTA approved. This means you will not have to hold your Class 2 learners licence for 6 months before gaining your full. In short, you can have no previous truck driving experience. As a result, you will come away with your full class 2 licence by completing our Truck Driving course.
One of our highly experienced driving tutors will teach you everything you need to know. You’ll learn how to safely operate a truck up to 18-tonnes.
Wheels, Tracks and Rollers Endorsement
By completing our Truck Licence training course, you will obtain a Wheels, Tracks and Rollers endorsement. To clarify, a Wheels, Tracks and Rollers (WTR) endorsement means that you can drive any special vehicle that is not a Forklift on the road.
Careers in Truck Driving
Once you have gained your full truck drivers licence with WTR endorsement, you will have many career opportunities. Additionally, you will then be able to get traffic control training and qualifications.
Once you have completed your truck driving course, Kiwi Can Do will help you to find a truck driving job. Firstly, we will help you update your CV. Then, we will search our jobs pool to match you with a suitable employer and find you a job in truck driving in your area. For example civil construction jobs or a career in road building. Finally, once you have gained employment, we will keep in touch for at least six months.
